I was appointed as Head Designer of The Planet magazine for my 2024 spring internship. My job was to work with the writers, photographers, printers, and of course my fellow designers to create this year’s analog magazine. This analog is meant to be a combination of the best stories from the last three seasons, Spring - Winter, of The Planet publishing. Along with the chosen stories me and my design team were given photos, writer bios, and addition planet info to create our piece.
Our goal was to assemble all of this information into a beautifully designed magazine that fits within the planets already defined aesthetic. My extra responsibilities as the head designer was to motivate my team and keep our work on schedule. This zine was separated into three sections based on seasons so me and my group mates each took one to oversee. We designed our section independently for a month then spent the rest of the term swapping and editing each others work. With this method we were able to make a cohesive Magazine that still showcased each of our design voices. My assigned section was the first in the zine labeled "The Gray Area", and it is the main subject of the work I show on this page.
